ARTIST'S STATEMENT
It is my goal to create paintings that speak of transcendence, wonder, and emotion. The medium, the technique, the thinking process--these are important only to the extent that they help me express my creativity with sensitivity and honesty.
People and places provide a never-ending source of surprise and inspiration for my work. I sip coffee at the local cafe and observe an elderly couple as they hold hands discreetly beneath the table. I drive through the hills in the early evening and discover gold and coral in the trees. I listen to the songs of workers as they harvest grapes in the vineyards. I feel the touch of a mother's hand on her son's scratched knee.
Moments of "grace" are extremely personal. It is my hope that such moments shine forth in the art that I make.
