I was part of a team in the Web Content Practicum class at Santa Rosa Junior College, that completed this website in the fall of 2004. Drug Abuse Alternatives Center (DAAC) is a non-profit drug and alcohol center. This project was part of the two year certificate program for Web Graphic Designer. Our team consisted of a project manager, a designer, and two content developers. I was one of the content developers, responsible for putting the content on the pages. I made my pages in Dreamweaver with templates created by the designer.

I remodeled this site for a Sonoma County landscape contractor, Kate Anchordoguy. I completely rewrote the old code removing deprecated HTML tags and added CSS for design elements. I changed the color scheme and modified the logo to create a more lively site with colors that complimented the images of her portfolio. I streamlined the navigation to make it easier to use and tie in with the overall design theme.
I designed and built this site for the fund-raising foundation of Harmony and Salmon Creek schools in Occidental, California. My clients wanted a site that showed the children doing activities that were made possible, because of the funds procured by "The Ark." The look and feel was to be warm, inviting, user-friendly, and easy to maintain. I built the site using XHTML for structure and CSS for design. I used "random images" scripting on the home page only. Each time you open it or click the refresh button, you see a new large image. This keeps things interesting.

This was the first site that I designed and built. It features my personal photography business, Deborah North Photography. Being a freelance photographer ties in very well with web design. This site shows a variety of my photography work, and the diversity of my photographic skills.
I designed Ocean Discovery during my final semester at Santa Rosa Junior College. It marked the completion of my two-year Web Graphic Design certificate program. This was the first site that I designed entirely on my own when I was working on my Web Graphic Design certificate at Santa Rosa Junior College. As part of a team, my job as designer was to create the look and feel of the site, and also to built the HTML templates for the content developer. My clients wanted a site that was aesthetically pleasing, informative, and easy to navigate. I created the color scheme, made final photo selections and layout, remodeled the original logo, and created a CSS sheet for a consistent look in the site.
